Dr. Steven D. Lin is a dual Board Certified physician in the fields of Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Surgery. He specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment of the musculoskeletal system, with emphasis on the Hand, Wrist, Elbow, and Microsurgery.
He has worked with world-renowned hand and upper-extremity surgeons across the United States and abroad. Having trained with Dr. A. Lee Osterman at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Dr. Scott H. Kozin at Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, he is experienced in all aspects of upper extremity reconstruction from shoulder to fingertips.
His special interests include wrist arthroscopy, microsurgery, sports injuries, arthritis, and upper extremity trauma.
Dr. Lin is also comprehensively trained in Orthopaedic Trauma and General Orthopaedics. He received extensive training at the University of Southern California and Los Angeles County General Hospitals, taking care of patients ranging from USC athletes to high-energy trauma reconstruction. Dr. Lin has multiple publications which have been presented at national meetings. He has a true passion for medicine and continues to educate students from USC Arcadia Hospital and Huntington Health, Cedars-Sinai Affiliates.
Dr. Lin was born at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena and grew up locally in Arcadia. He is proud to be able to serve the community in which he was raised. He spends time volunteering in community outreach programs, lecturing at conferences, devoting time to underserved populations on medical missions, and covering the local high school and college sports programs as team physician. He has also served multiple terms as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Methodist Hospital of Southern California.
Dr. Steven D. Lin has been recognized by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery to have demonstrated excellence in hand surgery beyond other orthopaedic surgeons by virtue of additional training, a practice characterized by a majority of cases in hand & upper extremity surgery, as well as contributions to his field.
Dr. Lin has fulfilled the stringent requirements of society memberships by virtue of wide clinical experience, special education, clinical and laboratory research, teaching responsibilities, and publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has attained active memberships to the prestigious American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and the American Association of Hand Surgery (AAHS).
Dr. Lin is a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) for the state of California, and plays a vital role in providing crucial medical-legal opinions in areas such as Worker’s Compensation.
He is an active treating physician in Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Surgery, and is accepting new worker’s compensation injuries.
He is also available for Agreed Medical Evaluations, AOE/COE Evaluations, Treatment, SIBTF Evaluations, Independent Medical Evaluation (IME), and personal injury cases.
His insights and assessments have been instrumental in helping individuals navigate complex legal and medical challenges.
