Alexander Sones, MD, QME is double board-certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry with extensive experience in California workers’ compensation psychiatry. He graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis and earned his medical degree from UCLA, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. He completed psychiatry residency and fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at UCLA and serves as a Voluntary Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, teaching and supervising forensic psychiatry fellows, residents, and medical students.
Dr. Sones has extensive experience educating and consulting with attorneys on complex psychiatric workers’ compensation issues, including causation, apportionment, malingering, and medicolegal standards. He is frequently trusted as an Agreed Medical Evaluator for his comprehensive, accurate, well-reasoned, and legally sound reports. He has published peer-reviewed work, authored book chapters, and lectures nationally, including to attorneys practicing in the California workers’ compensation system. He has received national recognition for his contributions to the field of forensic psychiatry, including the Rappeport Fellowship from the American Academy of Psychiatry & the Law.
He is available for QMEs, AMEs, IMEs, pre-deposition consultation, civil litigation, and disability evaluations.
